Emily has a broad background spanning various practice areas, with a foundation in both insurance defence and labour and employment law. She has appeared before the Divisional Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Licence Appeal Tribunal, and the Small Claims Court, and successfully represented employers and employees as well as domestic and international insurers at settlement conferences, mediations, hearings, private negotiations, and motions.

As a dedicated litigator, Emily has handled a broad spectrum of cases, ranging from employment law disputes to claims arising from sexual assault, property damage, product liability, and motor vehicle accidents.

As part of Emily’s labour and employment practice, Emily routinely collaborates with local and international employment counsel as well as multinational employers, independent contractors, and employees across various common law jurisdictions in Canada. Emily’s expertise spans all areas of employment law including hiring and terminations, employment contracts and policies, human rights laws, executive compensation, occupational health and safety standards, accommodations, and employment considerations in commercial transactions. Emily enjoys sharing her insights through interviews and seminars, covering diverse employment law topics, including employment law fundamentals, recent legal trends, developments, and legislative changes.

During law school at Queen’s, Emily helped build and transform the school’s social media approach for attracting a diverse class of students and has also served on the board of a not-for-profit experimental film and new media board.
