Laura joined Flaherty McCarthy LLP after working for a leading plaintiff personal injury firm in Barrie, Ontario. She has experience dealing with severely injured individuals and enjoys the complexity of motor vehicle accident tort and statutory accident benefits claims. During her time in law school, Laura was very involved with Probono Students Canada, including working on two year-long projects. The first was advocacy dedicated to shifting the way that sexual assault cases are described in the justice system. The second was a placement with the Small Claims Court in Ottawa. Laura’s experiences in this area have shown her the value of providing services that widen access to justice. Laura frequently appears at the Superior Court of Justice for applications, motions and has argued hearings before the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Laura graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) as well as Wilfrid Laurier University, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Law and Society.
